Halloween Mystery

Hello students!

Question of the day:
Halloween is just around the corner! Can you write a short paragraph of a favorite Halloween themed mystery that you can think of? If you cannot think of anything off the top of your head, look up one online, use one from a story or movie, or describe a local myth.

  1. is telltale heart halloween themed? i like that one. the freaky open eye in the middle of the nite is cool. plus, i sleep with one eye open and my mom always says its freaky, so I feel close to that old guy in the story. except i hope i don't get killed and burried in floorboards!

  2. Man, I love Poe. Lizzie had a great idea. I also love to watch Supernatural; the first season has a new scary-themed mystery every week. I really liked the one about Bloody Mary that they did--the way they found out it was her was pretty cool. I really remember that one because I was afraid of Bloody Mary as a kid.

  3. In my hometown, we have the Forest of Fear and the Bone Gap Schoolhouse. The Bone Gap Schoolhouse is in the town of Bone Gap, and yes, that is the real name of the town. In the "Forest of Fear," you travel through a woods in the country. It includes an old schoolbus that is missing half the seats, on top of a trampoline, and see dwarfs/little people. They run at you and come out from behind the trees. In the Bone Gap Schoolhouse, you travel through the classrooms and "learn" scary stories of how people died and never came back. The floor is falling apart so you have to be careful where you step. People jump out from rooms and you never know where people will be. At the end, you slide down from the second floor of the school.

  4. You guys are going to think I'm a big dork, but when I tried to think of a Halloween movie, the first thing that came to mind was Monster House, haha! Even though it's a cartoon, I love it! I once watched it with my three-year-old cousin. She certainly thought it was full of terror (although in a good way, she wanted to watch it again right afterward!).

PS. Little people running at you from behind trees? Sounds pretty successfully terrifying.

  5. WoW! Where do I begin? Halloween... well, first let's start by saying: I love Halloween.
Alex- I totally agree Monster House is creepy. hehehe... I watched it by myself.
When I think of scary Halloween stories I definitely think of the LEPRECHAN! That little guy is soooo creepy. But, you really can't address Halloween without mention of vampires and werewolves...or witches...or spiders...
So... Hocus Pocus is a good one. :)

  6. When I think of a Halloween mystery movie or theme I think about the the movie Clue. It is a mystery movie based on finding a killer. The killer is going around killing people and it is the job of everyone in the house to try and figure out who the killer is. I like the movie Monster House and I think it is also a good mystery for kids to watch. I think one of the best Halloween movies is Little Monsters. This is a movie about the world under your bed!!! it is really awesome:)!

  7. i think that halloween is the holiday of the devil and i do not think that this is an appropriate use of school time. my parents have said that the devil works though people when they dress up as monsters and these demons walk the earth devouring souls. i am offended by this blog.
